Our story began on a perfect day—September 13, 2023. Neither of us were looking for love, but our best friends had other plans, creating profiles for us on Match.com. A single click led to a conversation that flowed effortlessly, and soon after, our first date at a cozy Starbucks for coffee. We knew instantly we had found something special. We connected over our shared passions for sports, as both of us are former athletes, the outdoors, cooking, and a deep, shared belief in sobriety and recovery. Melissa was finishing up her master’s degree in nursing after being an RN for 20 years. Her goal of becoming a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner was supported by Billy, a partner who understood and supported her journey was everything. Billy a cyber security executive and early investor in artificial intelligence and other leading edge technology innovations was ready to finally met his missing piece of the puzzle.

A Blended Family, A Shared Future

Our love story quickly grew to include five beautiful girls: Riley, Taylor, Gianna, and Billy's daughters, Sophia and Alexa. The girls' first meeting on Sophia's birthday in May was magical. It was as if they had always been meant to be sisters—they connected instantly, forming a beautiful, blended family.

Billy proposed in December 2024 during a breathtakingly beautiful trip to Naples, Florida. He got down on one knee at the Ritz-Carlton, and it was a moment we’ll both cherish forever. Just a week later, we took our first family vacation to Puerto Rico, where Billy grew up. It was a perfect trip, celebrating our future together. Our journey has been a whirlwind of love, laughter, and blessings. Shortly after, we closed on our first home together in magical Loveladies, NJ, on Long Beach Island.

The Best is Yet to Come

LBI has become our family's happy place, a serene backdrop for the beautiful memories we've made. It is here, at the Mallard Island Yacht Club, overlooking the bay where we fell even more in love, that we will say "I do." Our story has been nothing short of a fairytale. We are so blessed to have found each other and a love that feels like a gift from heaven. We can't wait to celebrate the start of our forever with all of you, our friends and family, who mean the world to us.
